“Il Sole Esiste Per Tutti” from the album Alla Mia Età

I actually think this is one of the weaker tracks on this album, but the lyrics are so beautiful. I think if you’re like me, and for some reason haven’t been able to find Tiziano’s usual musical brilliance in this song, then you will surely find it in the words.

He didn’t write anything about it in his book I’m afraid, so here’s only the song translation.

English translation of “Il Sole Esiste Per Tutti”:

“The Sun Exists For Everyone”

On this grey morning, in this house that’s now only mine
I admit that you’re the only person who realizes
That you can know a person just by looking at them
And while you look at them, speak to them for the first time
You allow yourself a real, long break
A break from the notions and the preconceptions
A break from the first impression
And at the risk of making a mistake
Try to ask yourself first and foremost
If you can ever truly love that person

You, whose thoughts are only driven by affection
And who doesn’t want to hear about fights, hatred, spite and resentment
And who is moved by each of my flaws
You, who laughs only together with me
With someone who can laugh, laugh heartily
You always put yourself aside too often
And you love me more than I do myself
And it’s gone beyond the concept of an error
That everyone in the whole world universally refers to as love

I stop you at the lights at sunset and look you in the eyes
And I watch you dying
I stop you in hell and I lose myself
Why won’t you let me save you?
I deny the worst memories
I call back the best thoughts
I’d like you to remember, even during the worst tragedies
That the sun exists for everyone
It exists for everyone
It exists for everyone

That which we know has gone far beyond
The science, logic, concepts and comments of the hermit philosophy
What you don’t get and what I want you to understand
Is how unique and precious and irreplaceable it is, and just yours
The gift of life

I stop you at the lights at sunset and look you in the eyes
And I watch you dying
I stop you in hell and I lose myself
Why won’t you let me save you?
And I deny the deniable, live that which is livable, tend to the memory
And I forget about myself
And I lose the moment, hoping only that by losing that much
You will stay with me

I stop you at the lights at sunset and look you in the eyes
And I watch you dying
I stop you in hell and I lose myself
Why won’t you let me save you?
I deny the worst memories
I call back the best thoughts
I’d like you to remember, even during the worst tragedies
That the sun exists for everyone
It exists for everyone
It exists for everyone
It exists for everyone
It exists for everyone

Thanks to Patrizio for the help with this one.
